Upside Learning And Vocollect Win The ‘Best E‑Learning Team Of The Year’ Award In The 2013 E‑Learning Awards

The E‒learning Age awards, organised by e‒learning age, recognise excellence in the development and delivery of e‒Learning. Upside Learning, a global leader in workplace learning technology solutions, along with Vocollect has bagged a gold award for the ‘Best E‒Learning Team of the Year’. The who’s who from the learning, development and technology fraternity flocked to one of the most prestigious awards held in London on 7th November 2013, to celebrate the strength and depth of eLearning.

Vocollect, a leading developer and manufacturer of voice solutions, collaborated with Upside Learning to create updated courseware for its latest products and services. Upside Learning’s in‒house team of graphic designers, instructional designers, programmers and quality analysts led by a project manager came together for the design and development of Vocollect’s courseware. Upside Learning To Present A Free Webinar On ‘The Design Of Interaction For eLearning’

Digital interaction is one of the most important elements in eLearning as it forms the base for an engaging and user-friendly courseware. However, designing meaningful interactions can seem a bit challenging for Instructional Designers (IDs) at times as not all types of content work harmoniously with interactive elements.

To help IDs understand and overcome this challenge, Upside Learning has planned a free webinar titled ‘The Design of Interaction for eLearning’. Scheduled on 4th December at 3.30 PM (GMT) and 5th December at 11.00 AM (IST), the webinar will be presented by Abhijit Kadle, AVP of Learning Design at Upside Learning.

Abhijit is a recognised name in the eLearning ID circles, and has been active in the field of digital learning design for the past 12+ years. Through this webinar he aims to explore various types of content as defined by Dr. David Merrill, a well known instructional effectiveness consultant, and determine which of those content types lend themselves to digital interaction. In addition, a case study involving the design of an interaction for a specific type of content will also be presented along with the do’s and don’ts.

The webinar caters to people practicing instructional design, developers of instructional materials and individuals involved in management of eLearning content development projects. Users can expect to get a thorough understanding on how the design elements co-exist with various content types in different environments and will successfully be able to identify parts of content amenable to interaction.

Upside Learning And Track LS’ Joint Seminar On ‘The Role Of Technology In Learning And Development’ Proves A Huge Success

Upside Learning Adopts Tin Can API In Its Proprietary Courseware Framework

Going a step beyond SCORM, Upside Learning has now integrated Tin Can API into its proprietary courseware framework for custom eLearning and mobile learning. These Tin Can compliant courses can be developed for desktops, as well as mobile devices, including tablets.

As a leading provider of world–class learning technology solutions, Upside Learning has always adhered to the latest learning standards in creating and delivering eLearning and mLearning solutions. Integrating Tin Can API into its solutions was only a natural progression for the company.

Integrating Tin Can into its proprietary courseware framework enables Upside Learning to create custom learning courses for desktops and mobile devices (including tablets), tailor–made to its client’s requirements. Clients can thereafter track and report their learners’ actions carried through these courses. These actions, defined in a simple noun–verb–object format, can help an organisation get a comprehensive view of their learners’ learning activities – be it completing a course, watching a video, taking an assessment or something as simple as opening a course. Further, these statements can be sent to any LRS (Learning Record Store). LRSs can share data and transcripts with one another, ensuring that the learners’ experiences follow them from one LRS (or organisation) to another.

At the recently concluded DevLearn 2012, held in Las Vegas, USA, Upside Learning’s integration of Tin Can API into its proprietary framework was demonstrated as a part of the Watershed showcase. Watershed is an application created for DevLearn 2012 to act as a single LRS endpoint for all Tin Can statements being generated at the event.

Future plans for the company include integration of this new standard into its other learning solutions like UpsideLMS and Upside2Go.
